Egypt: Trial of Irish prisoner adjourned for 15th time in 3 years

Irish citizen Ibrahim Halawa has been detained in Egypt since August 2013, when he was arrested aged 17.  He has been held without trial for the 3 years and 1 month since, awaiting a mass trial with 493 others.

 

On Sunday 2 October 2016, his trial was adjourned for the 15th time.  Ibrahim's family and his international legal team has released a statement, which is available from KRW Law here.  He is represented by solicitor Darragh Mackin, KRW Law, Belfast, and Doughty Street barristers Caoilfhionn Gallagher, Katie O'Byrne and Mark Wassouf.
