Conversation with Criminal Defense Lawyer Nancy Hollander: Experiences from Guantanamo

On Thursday 16 July, Ms. Nancy Hollander will give a lecture at The Hague Institute for Global Justice. Ms. Hollander will discuss her career as a criminal lawyer and the book entitled 'Guantánamo Diary' written by Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a former Guantanamo prisoner whom she represented.

 

Ms. Hollander is an internationally renowned criminal defense lawyer from the United States. Her practice is largely devoted to representing individuals and organizations accused in criminal cases, including those involving national security issues. Moreover, she has served in high profile terrorism cases and represents two prisoners at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. Ms. Hollander has coordinated and taught multiple training courses, such as for criminal defense lawyers wishing to appear before the ICC and ICTY.
