Mohamedou Ould Slahi released from Guantanamo Bay prison

 

The author of ‘Guantánamo Diary’, Mohamedou Ould Slahi, has been transferred to his native Mauritania where he is to reunited with his family.

 

Mohamedou was detained in Guantánamo for 14 years and never charged with any crime. A panel of U.S. national security, intelligence, and other officials cleared Slahi for release in July after determining he poses no significant threat to the United States.

 

DSC Associate Tenants Linda Moreno and Nancy Hollander are part of the defence team representing Mohamedou Ould Slahi on a pro bono basis.
