Of Human Bondage: Combating Human Trafficking and People Smuggling

Recent tragedies in the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia have prompted reassessment of the effectiveness of the legal framework concerning human trafficking and people smuggling. This event will discuss whether the current framework, including the two protocols to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, effectively addresses the current challenges. What are the obstacles to successful prosecutions? Do practices on corporate responsibility succeed in eradicating trafficking from supply chains?

Please note this event will be followed by a drinks reception.

This event is held in association with Doughty Street Chambers and is accredited with 1.5 CPD points.

Participants:

Parosha Chandran, Barrister, 1 Pump Court, London
